• WEDDING POSTPONEMENT WORDING

Due to the uncertain and uncontrollable events around us all, you've made the decision to postpone your wedding (COVID-19, Coronavirus, Social Distancing, Travel Ban, Restricted Venue Numbers). Now what?

This is a stressful time for couples getting married. Has your wedding been officially postposed? Are you in limbo with a possible new date? Have you set a new date? Here’s what we have been doing to help wedding couples get through this.

• Creating online digital invites with the revised date and details.

• Creating updated printed  invitations with the revised date and details.

• For those in limbo we can set up a just in case ready to print or digital file upon confirmation.

We are working with what is best for the couples and their guests in receiving this information.

If you’re wedding is fast approaching, a digital send out with an email reply or wedding website URL for details and confirmation is a good option.

If you have a little more time, a formal invite to be sent the same way as your original invites may be best. You can opt out of the reply card and request the reply back via email or wedding website URL if you prefer. Note: printed items often take us 1 week +.

We highly recommend that couples include a wedding website that informs guests to check for updates. This could be added in your details card, on your invite or on the back of the invitation. In the case of a postponement, you won’t need additional stationery.

URBAN SCRIBES DESIGN STUDIO

Your updated invitation for the wedding announcement should have a similar feel, colours and vibe to your existing theme. Of course if we did your invitations we will follow with what was previously designed for a cohesive look as you are most likely carrying this through to your day of items. If we didn't do your invitations we can customize something that will fit just right.

Wedding postponement wording options that we suggest:

“Due to the recent events around us all, the date has been moved to celebrate in September instead of June.”

"Due to the uncertain and uncontrollable events around us all, the Smith/Doe wedding has been postponed from June 06, 2020 to September 12, 2020.”

“The marriage of Ms. Jane Smith and Mr. John Doe has been postponed until Saturday, the twelfth of September, Two Thousand and Twenty at half past four o’clock.”

“Mr. and Mrs. Smith announce that the wedding of their daughter Miss Jane to Mr. John Doe, which was postponed, will now take place on Saturday, September 12th, 2020”
